Mechi Multiple Campus (MMC) is a constituent campus of TU and it runs multiple programs offering wide range of subjects to its students. MMC provides programs of the faculty of management, science and technology and humanities and social science at the bachelor level and master level.
MMC is located in Bhadrapur of Jhapa district. Its student come from all the parts of the Jhapa district as well from other districts of Mechi Zone and some from other parts of the Eastern Region and few from other regions of Nepal. MMC bears a poroud history of producing graduates who have gone to lead the nation in political, economic and social sector.
MMC students have gone on to become Deputy Prime Minister, Cabinet Ministers, Governors of the central bank (Nepal Rastra Bank), bank managers, civil servants and few have gone to serve in the United Nations. The campus offers program in the faculty of science, management and humanities. It offers Master level program in the faculty of management and humanities. Majority of the students enrolled in the campus are from lower middle class and middle class population coming from different parts of the Eastern Region.
MMC established in 2021 has been providing quality education since then. Initially, with 11 students enrolled which later increased to 26 students under the founder Principal Jagat Bandhu Karki. This campus was established by active initiation and involvement of education aficionados and social activist as like Bhupal Man Singh Karki and others. At the time of its establishment though the campus only offered course in Intermediate of Arts however at the year 2028 BS also started Bachelor of Arts but this was taken off at 2030. But again at 2033 BS, the campus started to offer courses in Bachelor of Arts with permission from Tribhuvan University.
The campus thereafter also at 2039 BS started courses in management (commerce) with Intermediate of Commerce and started Bachelor of Commerce in 2043 BS. Thereafter MMC also started science and law stream from 2046 by offering intermediate course initially and started a full fledged Bachelor program from 2053 in both these stream.
The campus in 2055 BS also offered for the first time a postgraduate courses in Master of Arts in Nepali which later in 2057 BS also included Economics. The campus in 2066 also started postgraduate course in management by offering Master of Business Studies to the students. The campus keeping in mind the importance of relevant course started program on Environmental Studies under the Bachelor of Science in 2067. In the same year the campus also started postgraduate program on Sociology & Anthropology. In the year 2068 BS, the campus for the first time the only of its kind in Nepal, offered 4 year program on Bachelor of Tea Technology and Management. In the same year the campus also started postgraduate program in English and in 2070 the campus has started a Bachelor program in Business Administration in its endeavor to fulfill expectation and aspirations of its region. The campus currently is also running BCA, BSW and BSc. CSIT Program.
